Select by the outside diameter of the hose
Measure the outer diameter of the hose where the clip is to be fitted, and compare the measurement with the clamping range of the clip. The nominal hose size or inner diameter is not sufficient for selecting clips.
Assembly using a suitable pair of pliers
Use pliers suitable for the design of the clip. Purpose-made special pliers provide better control over the compression. If another suitable tool is used, the installation must be carried out without deforming the clip or damaging the hose.
Check clips and hose after installation
Check after installation that the clip sits evenly and securely, and that the hose is not cut, pinched or deformed. A removed or damaged clip must be assessed before reuse and should be replaced if there are signs of damage.
