A siphon is used for the gentle transfer of beer or wort between containers. When used correctly, the liquid can be moved without unnecessary aeration and without stirring up the sediment.
Choose siphon according to container and application
Here you will find siphons and accessories in materials including plastic and acid-resistant steel. Choose a length that fits your fermentation vessel or pot, and use a food-grade hose with the correct diameter.
When racking, the siphon's inlet should be positioned above the sediment. Keep the hose outlet close to the bottom of the new vessel so that the beer is transferred smoothly and contact with air is limited.
