Dried orange peel for brewing

Dried orange peels provide a fresh citrus aroma with fruity and slightly bitter notes. They can be used in, among other things, wheat beers, Belgian beer styles and other drinks where a distinct citrus character is desired.

The product is often used in the same way as bitter orange, but orange and bitter orange are not the same fruit. The flavour profile may therefore be milder and more orange-like.

How to use

Add according to the recipe, for example during the final stage of boiling or through a controlled post-boil steeping process. A long boiling time can diminish the fresh citrus aroma and accentuate the bitterness.

Start with a moderate amount, and adjust according to batch size, beer type and desired intensity.
