Cinnamon pieces for brewing

Cinnamon pieces provide a warm, sweet and spicy aroma. They can be used in beer and other fermented drinks where a distinct yet balanced cinnamon character is desired.

The pieces are easier to handle and remove again than fine cinnamon powder. They are suitable for Christmas beer, winter beer, dark ales, mead and cider, amongst other things, and can be combined with, for example, orange peel, cloves or star anise.

How to use

The cinnamon pieces can be added during the final part of the cooking or later in the process, depending on the recipe and the desired flavour intensity.

Cinnamon can quickly become overpowering. Therefore, start with a moderate amount and taste continuously with a longer contact time.
