Dark candy sugar for brewing beer

Dark candi sugar is used to increase the wort's sugar content and thereby the beer's alcoholic strength. At the same time, it can contribute a darker colour and flavour notes of caramel and dark sugar.

Candy sugar contributes less body than an equivalent amount of malt and is therefore well suited to strong beers that should not become unnecessarily heavy. It is often used in dark Belgian beer styles such as dubbel and quadrupel, but can also be used in other dark specialty beers.

How to use

Add the rock candy during the boiling process and ensure it is completely dissolved. The amount depends on the recipe as well as the desired alcohol strength, colour, and flavour intensity.
